Methods of Addiction Treatment in Substance - Dependent Users Serving a Sentence of Imprisonment

The bachelor's thesis deals with addiction treatment effects in the execution of imprisonment from the point of view of convicts. In the theoretical part I describe the drug problem, I focus on the concept of addiction, types of drugs and addiction treatment outside prison. In the second part of the theoretical part, I pursue the execution of imprisonment and treatment in the execution of imprisonment. The practical part contains findings, whether the treatment in prisons is applied and beneficial for convicts. It describes the case studies of the people I interviewed and analyzed of the interviews was conducted, which are summarized in the discussion.

This diploma thesis deals with special pedagogue role in system of treating with prisoners at the department custody and department of imprisonment. It also describes all the activities and programs, which are prepared by special pedagogue for accused and convinced. There is described the work of special pedagogue in Remand Prison Praha-Pankrác. The research was based on observations, case reports and interviews.

Aim of my diploma thesis is to describe the system of penitentiary and post-penitentiary care in the Czech republic and determine whether and how it works link these two components in practice. This thesis consists of two parts - a theoretical one and a practical one. In the theoretical part I explain the expressions and the subjects that provide this care in our republic. I also try to clarify the purpose and the sense of this care and the relations between penitentiary and post-penitentiary care. I deal with the conception of work with defendant and convicted people, as well, and with the possibilities of work with clients in jail. I cpecify problems of this work in details. Last but not lest i mention upbriding, education and employment of people in the course of custody and imprisonment. The practical part of my diploma thesis is based on my praktice in the jailhouse Praha - Ruzyně that I manager in the course my studies. I start with guilty and convict clients there, then I mention the structure of the working team of specialist. The possibilities of the clients regarding the treatment is procedure, education and employment in this jailhouse make an important part of this diploma work. Custodial Assurance of The Accused Person

The diploma thesis is focused on the custodial assurance of the accused person. The institute of the custody is seen as a freedom restriction and the person's personal freedom and also it is seen as one of the kinds of ensuring measures. The core is to keep the conditions set by the law and basic principles of the criminal proceedings to not to allow over-use or abuse of the custody. The aim of the diploma thesis is the analysis of the custodial assurance legal frame, custody basic characteristics, its reasons, measures to substitute custody and to map the or of the social worker in this field. It is overall summary of legal adjustments concerning the custody. The thesis is divided into twelve chapters. The first chapter is dedicated to the person assurance itself before the custody procedure and the second chapter includes custody basic characteristics and its legal anchor. The third chapter deals with custodial conditions, reasons and its duration. The fourth one concerns the custody length and other legal terms. The fifth chapter is focused on the decision about custody in proceedings before the court and in the legal proceedings and that in the frame of the authorities by particular organs. The sixth chapter concerns the custody itself, including the place and personal section. There are defined the measures which can be used to substitute the custody in the seventh chapter. There is analysis of the link in the case of youth offenders and there are also stated the main differences from adult accused ones in the eighth chapter. The ninth and tenth chapter mention psycho-social impact of the custody, social work with people in the custody proceedings and the role of the social worker in this field. The last chapter is in short focused on the comparison of the custody and the punishment. The diploma thesis comes out primarily from the judicature, legal regulations - in particular from the Law nr. 141/1961, about the criminal proceedings of justice (legal code), literature with comments, professional articles and internet sources.

Conclusion - Problems of custody instrument The topic of this diploma thesis is area of problems of custody instrument. This security instrument of procedural criminal law brings many problems especially in the area of its application and its performance. Nowadays this issue is considered to be greatly controversial which is obvious with regards to its grave breach of human rights. Custody also provides great space for existence of judicial errors due to requirement of immediacy decision and contradictory interests of accused person and investigation authority. The topic of diploma thesis is divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter comprises development of criminal procedural law and related development of custody. This chapter provides general summary of the development of custody and it should introduce custody from the perspective of excursion into history of custody. Czech prison system and its ability to meet the public interest

Diploma thesis "The Czech prison system and its ability to meet the public interest" deals with the public interest in the selected area from the perspective of key stakeholders, election programmes, policy statements of governments and (changes in) legislation between 2000-2013. For determination of what is the public interest has been used as a tool a scheme of four dimensions of definition of public interest. First, there is the public interest as defined by experts, which is determined on the basis of content analysis of the journal the České vězeňství published by Prison Service of the Czech Republic. Second, the public interest determined by the preferences of citizens, which are collected from content analysis of articles from Newton Media Search and from reproduced findings of public opinion polls. To analyze the third dimension of public interests, which are generated by functional needs of the community, content analysis of election programmes of the parliamentary parties of the period is used as well as policy statements of the government and also the study of changes in legislation. Diploma thesis describes foreign nationals imprisoned in the Czech Republic with more detailed focus on the characteristics of the selected groups. Based on the analysis, characterization and expert examination gives a comprehensive view on this issue and to help you navigate not only the interested persons.
The theoretical part focuses on the description of the Prison service of the Czech Republic as an institution, its role, structure and organization system. It also deals with the history and its evolution to the present time. It provides a comprehensive insight into the issue of foreigners in the Czech Republic, legislative regulation and crime. For purposes of this research work have been selected group of foreign nationals imprisoned in the Czech Republic, which are closer to the theoretical part, characterized, distributed and investigated.
Analytical part is focused on analysis of selected data, and layout (for clarity) into several sections, which always include one area of research interest of the issue. This section is arranged graphs providing an overview on the development of individual indicators.
In conclusion there is summary assessment and recommendations to individual areas of research.

Drug abuse prevention in custody and jail

The theme of this thesis is "The drug prevention during detention and imprisonment." The theoretical part concerns the definition of narcotics, definition of the legislative frame of the Czech republic on Narcotic and Psychotropical Substances and pillars of the drug policy of the Czech republic. The practical part is based on the results of the survey analyzes the current state of drug prevention in prison and assess the effectiveness of the precautions. The outcome of practical part is a list of recommendations that could contribute to improving the situation.
